Further Festival Events
Apart from the lunch and evening concerts and the street singing, many further events take place at the EFYC.
Ascension church services
On Thursday morning, the festival choirs sing in local church services.
Regional matinees
Children and youth choirs from local schools of music, high schools and choral schools give their own concerts in Basel-Stand and Basel-Landschaft.
Country focus
Three selected festival choirs present their music cultures in interactive workshops.
Open Singing
The audience is encouraged to sing various choral pieces directed by an experienced conductor and supported by a local youth choir.
Sing Along
Directed by a renowned conductor and accompanied by instruments the audience sings famous melodies or excerpts from a larger well-known work.
Swiss meeting of choral conductors
Choral conductors from all over Switzerland and from different music cultures come together in Basel during the Festival. They enjoy an exhibition of scores and reading sessions, socialize and network and attend a Festival concert together.
Study tour
In the Festival's context, the section of choral conducting, Academy of Music Basel (Prof. Raphael Immoos) organizes in collaboration with other educational institutions an attractive study course for students and professionals of choral conducting.
