EJCF GOES GREEN
We at the European Youth Choir Festival Basel actively promote sustainability. We are aware of our responsibility towards the climate and are happy to act as a role model for the festival’s many young participants from all over the world.

Our collaborations
When working together with companies and organisations, we favour those that, like us, care about the planet Earth and place a high priority on environmentally friendly practices.
We would be delighted if you would show your appreciation of this approach by giving preference to the following businesses:

“For us, sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a commitment we take seriously. Our aim is to organise our concert activities in an environmentally, economically and socially responsible manner. Our sustainability strategy is based on the ISO 20121 standard and sets out specific measures to use resources efficiently, minimise our carbon footprint and fulfil our social responsibilities.”
Thomas Koeb, Director of Stadtcasino Basel

“Everything that is produced consumes resources. That’s why we do as much as possible to make our fashion environmentally friendly. This begins with the design: Timelessness is important, because a dress that outlasts trends stays in your wardrobe for longer. In terms of materials, we pay attention to high quality, as good fabric lasts longer.”
Manuel Rieder, CEO at Tarzan GmbH

“Sustainability in the hotel industry is multifaceted. For example, we make our consumption of resources as efficient as possible by cooperating with ‘Water for Water’ and ‘United Against Food Waste’, as well as by ensuring fair working conditions. Supporting local culture is also important to us.”
Jonas Gass, CEO of Nomad Design & Lifestyle Hotel and Krafft Basel

“Our bread, if it goes stale, becomes a treat for the elephants at Basel Zoo and our mattresses, made from tested materials, are 100% biodegradable. We understand sustainability to mean taking social and ethical concerns into account, and having close ties with the local community.”
Andrea Durrer-Fässler, Director of Gaia Hotel

«A place comes alive through its stories and the people who characterise it. The Steinenschanze Stadthotel is part of the Compagna Basel association, which is committed to charitable projects. We take responsibility for creating a sustainable world worth living in for future generations.»
Michaela-Maria Nazarek, Managing Director Steinenschanze Stadthotel
