Herrenstimmen des Boys Choir Lucerne, Switzerland
The Men’s Voices are a small formation within the “Boys Choir Lucerne”. The approximately 25 singers between the ages of 13 and 23 all come from the Lucerne region and have sung in the choir since they were boys. After their voices break, they participate in selected projects in the men’s formation. Whether rehearsing film music, classical repertoire, Swiss folk songs or musicals: in addition to meticulous work, fun and games are never neglected. Experts and audiences alike praise the sophisticated and creative contributions, which are often composed and arranged specifically for them. The Men’s Voices regularly participate in competitions and have won various national and international prizes. They are led by Andreas Wiedmer. The trained singer, school musician and choir director early on specialized himself in working with children’s and youth choirs. He is a lecturer in music education at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and in choral voice training and choral conducting at the Zurich University of the Arts.
