For their contribution to the cultural life of Lithuania, the “goldfinches” were awarded the “Golden Bird” by the Folk Culture Center. As one of the most outstanding choirs in the Baltic region, the “Dagilėlis” Boys’ Choir is dedicated to the Lithuanian choral tradition and its representation at home and abroad. Founded in 1990 by the current artistic director, the choir evolved into the “Dagilėlis” Choir School around the turn of the millennium. Since then, the boys have thrilled concertgoers from Beijing to Washington with their emotional singing and are regular participants in festivals as well as prize winners of numerous competitions. The “goldfinches” have repeatedly collaborated with artistic collectives and famous soloists. Remigijus Adomaitis studied piano and conducting and has been repeatedly awarded for his pedagogical and cultural efforts. Among other things, he was declared an honorary citizen of the city of Šiauliai in 2014.
