The young chamber choir is part of the Vaskivuori Music Upper Secondary School, where it was founded in 1995. 35 students are selected to form the choir. The youth choir is very well known in Finland, and the four albums produced so far are often played on the radio. In 2021-2022 Vaskivuori was the official youth choir of the Finnish Broadcasting Company. Before that, the choir had the privilege of representing Finland as a national cultural ambassador. The choir has been able to travel extensively and pick up numerous prizes at competitions. Most recently, they were awarded the prestigious Fleischmann Trophy at the Cork Choral Festival in 2022. Since 2023, the chamber choir has been under the direction of young conductor Anni-Kaisa Haukka. She took over from Jonna Vehmanen, having previously served as assistant conductor for the choir. In addition to being a choir director, Haukka is also a singer and music teacher.
